I started to compose as soon as I could put 2 chords together on the guitar, inspired by my friends who were all playing music too. I then progressed on to using drum machines, 4 track recorders and early samplers.
I got into synthesisers and joined my first bands but it was a little later, after starting piano lessons, that I really began to understand composing through studying classical piano and music theory. At this time I was playing synths in bands of all genres, Rock, Pop, Britpop, Psyche, Shoegaze and Electronica. Due to this i achieved a great understanding and confidence from working with these styles.
I also gained experience in professional studios, recording demos at EMI Publishing, releasing several singles and albums on Independent labels and experiencing the thrill of Radio 1 airplay, glowing reviews in the National music press like NME, Melody Maker and appearing in their Indie charts too.
